JAPANESE AID TO UKRAINIAN WAR REFUGEES IN LITHUANIA / JAPONIJOS PAGALBA UKRAINOS KARO PABĖGĖLIAMS LIETUVOJE
The Chiune Sugihara fundraising in Nagoya raises funds for Ukrainian war refugees in Lithuania.
The city of Nagoya is historically associated with the world’s famous diplomat, the Japanese consul Chiune Sugihara. Ch. Sugihara was born and graduated in Nagoya. While helping thousands of war refugees from Poland to Lithuania, 1940 Ch. Sugihara became a role model in helping those fleeing wars in the face of disaster. After more than 80 years, most of us by helping refugees can repeat Sugihara’s story.
The Chiune Sugihara fundraising will be used to improve the situation of Ukrainian war refugees in our region: the socialization, emotional well-being, self-esteem, educational assistance, and the successful integration of adults and children into society are our top priorities.
